About Us

Our Story

In 2020, I lost my job due to the pandemic, and the following year, I got married. My husband and I decided it would benefit our family for me to become a stay-at-home mom to help save money, which presented challenges as we transitioned to a single-income household in Hawai'i.

To prepare for our baby, I researched ways to save money and discovered low-waste lifestyle blogs. I also learned about the harmful effects of overconsumption, which lead to microplastics, which pose health risks to marine life and future generations, including my daughter.

Growing up in a first-generation Filipino-American household, I learned to value and maintain what we already have. These lessons inspired me to found Double Happyness in 2021. We aim to help the community adopt a low-waste lifestyle through eco-friendly product swaps, promoting sustainability and local artistry.

Let’s build sustainable daily habits together! Mahalo, Aly
